Die Astrochemie liegt im Spannungsfeld von Astronomie, Chemie und Molekularphysik. Auf der Grundlage präziser Labordaten wurde eine reichhaltige Sammlung von mehr als 200 bekannten und exotischen Molekülen im interstellaren Medium identifiziert, die überwiegende Mehrheit anhand ihres einzigartigen Rotationsfingerabdrucks. Trotz dieser umfangreichen Arbeit gibt es im Radioband kaum Hinweise auf die Grundbausteine der Chemie auf fünf- und sechsgliedrigen Erdringen – trotz langjähriger und anhaltender Bemühungen in den letzten 50 Jahren. Im Gegensatz dazu ist ein besonderes Strukturmotiv, hoch ungesättigter Kohlenstoff in einer kettenartigen Anordnung, im Raum weit verbreitet.
Der kürzlich durchgeführte astronomische Nachweis von Cyanobenzol, dem einfachsten aromatischen Nitril, in der dunklen Molekülwolke TMC-1 und bald darauf in zusätzlichen prestellaren und möglicherweise protostellaren Quellen zeigt, dass die aromatische Chemie in den frühesten Stadien der Sternentstehung wahrscheinlich weit verbreitet ist. Die anschließende Entdeckung von Cyanocyclopentadienen und sogar Cyanonaphthalinen in TMC-1 liefert weitere Beweise dafür, dass organische Moleküle von beträchtlicher Komplexität leicht in Regionen mit hoher visueller Extinktion synthetisiert werden können, in denen jedoch die niedrige Temperatur und der niedrige Druck bemerkenswert niedrig sind.
Diese Übersicht konzentriert sich auf die derzeit laufenden Laboranstrengungen, um den reichen Übergangsbereich zwischen linearen und planaren Kohlenstoffstrukturen mithilfe der Mikrowellenspektroskopie zu verstehen. Wir präsentieren wichtige Merkmale, Vor- und Nachteile aktueller Nachweismethoden, eine Diskussion der Arten von Molekülen im Weltraum und im Labor sowie in der Entwicklung befindliche Ansätze zur Identifizierung völlig neuer Arten in komplexen Gemischen. Studien zur Cyanierung von Kohlenwasserstoffen und zur Bildung von Benzol aus acyclischen Vorläufern werden ebenso hervorgehoben wie die Rolle, die Isotopenstudien bei der Aufklärung der chemischen Wege zur Ringbildung spielen könnten.
Die Photochemie von Fe (III), das an natürliche Uronat-haltige Polysaccharide koordiniert ist, wurde in wässriger Lösung quantitativ untersucht. Es wird gezeigt, dass die Photoreduktion des koordinierten Fe (III) zu Fe (II) und die oxidative Decarboxylierung in einer Vielzahl von Uronat enthaltenden Polysacchariden erfolgt. Die Photochemie des Fe (III) –Polyuronsäuresystems erzeugte während der Reaktion eine Radikalspezies, die unter Verwendung der Spin-Trapping-Technik untersucht wurde. Die Identität der Radikalspezies aus dieser Reaktion wurde als CO2 • bestätigt, was darauf hinweist, dass sowohl die Bindungsspaltung des Carboxylats als auch die oxidative Decarboxylierung nach Radikalreaktionen zwischen Ligand und Metallladungsübertragung bei Bestrahlung stattfinden können.
Der Abbau der Polyuronsäurekette wurde mit dynamischer Lichtstreuung untersucht und zeigte eine Abnahme des hydrodynamischen Radius der Polymeranordnungen in Lösung nach Lichtbestrahlung, die mit der Fe (II) -Erzeugung korreliert. Eine Abnahme der Viskosität von Fe (IIII) -Alginat nach Bestrahlung mit Licht wurde ebenfalls beobachtet. Zusätzlich wurde die photochemische Reaktion in Pflanzenwurzelgewebe (Pastinaken) untersucht, um zu zeigen, dass die Fe (III) -Koordination in diesen natürlichen Materialien zu einer Photoreaktivität führt, die die Pektinkomponente abbaut. Diese Ergebnisse zeigen, dass diese Fe (III) -Polyuronsäure in vielen natürlichen Systemen vorkommen kann und eine Rolle beim biogeochemischen Kreislauf der Eisen- und Eisenerzeugung in Pflanzen mit signifikantem Polyuronsäuregehalt spielen kann.
Organische Chemie für Medizinstudenten im ersten Jahr: Ansprache an die „breite Öffentlichkeit“
Erfahrungen aus 20 Jahren Unterricht in organischer Chemie an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Genf werden gesammelt. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Frage, wie ein großes Publikum ohne besondere Leidenschaft für die Chemie angesprochen werden kann. Die wichtigste Lektion besteht darin, gleich zu Beginn eine fundierte Begründung für jedes Thema zu liefern, bevor die Grundlagen behandelt werden. Zum Beispiel beginnt der Kurs mit einer Vancomycin-Resistenz, die durch die Umwandlung einer funktionellen Gruppe, sogar eines Atoms in ein anderes, erreicht wird. Anschließend werden Einführungsthemen buchstäblich zur Struktur eines wunderschön komplexen
Naturprodukts entwickelt (Beziehung von Molekülen, funktionellen Gruppen und Atomen, Einführung) von funktionellen Gruppen, die Oktettregel, Hybridisierung, später auch Peptidchemie, Stereochemie usw.). Tamiflu wird unmittelbar danach eingeführt, um zu rechtfertigen, warum Medizinstudenten Reaktionsmechanismen erlernen sollten, lange bevor die betreffende Reaktion, die Umwandlung eines Acetals in ein Hemiacetal, diskutiert wird. Nicht alle klassischen Unterrichtsthemen sind mit einem solchen “durch Relevanz ausgelösten Unterricht” vereinbar (Nomenklatur sicherlich nicht, noch Halogenalkane, aromatische Substitutionen, Alkine, die meisten Alkene, Spektroskopie usw.).
Andere Themen verdienen mehr Aufmerksamkeit, wie die komplexeren cyclischen Strukturen von Zuckern und Steroiden im Strukturteil und die Carbonylchemie, einschließlich der Katalyse, als Zentrum des Reaktivitätsteils des Kurses. Eine schwer zu messende, aus relevanter pädagogischer Sicht unvorstellbare, durch Relevanz ausgelöste Kursumstrukturierung wurde insgesamt überraschend gut aufgenommen, wenn auch definitiv nicht von allen Studierenden.

Rolle der suprathermalen Chemie bei der Entwicklung von Kohlenoxiden und organischen Stoffen in interstellaren und kometären Eisen
ConspectusLabor-basierte experimentelle Astrochemie beinhaltet regelmäßig die Simulation astrophysikalischer Umgebungen, in denen kondensiertes Niedertemperatur-Eis der Strahlung von ultravioletten (UV) Photonen oder energetisch geladenen Teilchen ausgesetzt wird. Hier werden angeregte Atome / Radikale erzeugt, die sich nicht im thermischen Gleichgewicht mit ihrer Umgebung befinden (d. H. Sie sind nicht thermisch oder suprathermal).
